Just a few weeks after his 18th birthday, Raul Rosas Jr will make his promotional debut against Jay Perrin at UFC 282. The stacked event takes place December 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
As a 17-year-old, Raul Rosas Jr. required special approval from the commission, and a waiver signed by his parents, to compete at Dana White’s Contender Series 55. In September, the young fighter defeated Mando Gutierrez via unanimous decision to win a UFC contract.
“What a war, what a technical fight it was,” UFC president Dana White said after the fight. “Both guys pushed themselves as hard as they could. And for a 17-year-old to conduct himself the way he did in this fight, I was blown away by it. Blown away.”
“I’m very, very impressed with this kid. He’s absolutely special. The amount of fighter that were blowing me up going, ‘Oh my God. This kid is for real. This kid is legit. Impressive,’” White said.
