Former interim lightweight title holder Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson will be back in action on UFC 291 as he’s set to face Bobby “King” Green in a three-round bout.
The lightweight matchup was recently announced by UFC President Dana White.
39-year-old Ferguson is on a five-fight losing skid that dates back to 2020, and is in desperate need of a win. If he loses at UFC 291, it might very well be the last we see of “El Cucuy” in the octagon.
Worth mentioning is that every loss came against absolute elite opponents like Beneil Dariush, Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.
Seasoned veteran Green also had a rough time lately with just two wins in his last seven outings.
Ferguson crashed his truck into several parked vehicles, which resulted in his truck being flipped on its side. According to reports, he then refused to take a field sobriety test and is now facing a misdemeanor DUI charge.
