Alex Pereira takes on Israel Adesanya in title rematch at UFC 287

Long-time rivals Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are set to clash in a middleweight championship rematch at UFC 287 in April.

It was UFC president Dana White who revealed the news of the matchup yesterday.

At UFC 281 in November last year, Pereira defeated Adesanya with a spectacular fifth-round knockout to become the new middleweight champion.

The fight will be the pairs second in MMA, and fourth in combat sports, as Pereira defeated Izzy twice in kickboxing.

The Brazilian is undefeated in the UFC, with a promotional record of 4-0, while Adesanya is 12-2, with an overall MMA record of 23-2.
