Swedish prospect Anton Turkalj just faced Jailton Almeida in his short notice UFC debut.
The Brazilian took the fight to the ground right away and started to work for a submission. Turkalj defended himself well on the ground and stayed patient.
However, with less than a minute left of the round, Almeida was able to secure a rear-naked-choke that finished the fight.
The loss was the first for the Swede. Just a few weeks ago, he defeated Acacio dos Santos at the Dana White’s Contender Series.
The 26-year-old now has a professional record of 8-1 with no less than seven wins coming by stoppage. In his professional debut, he finished Marius Pislaru via TKO just 32 seconds into the first round.
