On Saturday, Swedish light heavyweight Anton Turkalj steps into the octagon to face undefeated Vitor Petrino in a main card bout.
At yesterday’s media day, the Swede gave his thoughts on returning to the cage, six months after his promotional debut.
“I wanted to get back sooner, but this time we didn’t want a short-notice fight or rush into something. We wanted a proper camp and that’s what we had,” Turkalj said. “I actually prefer short-notice because then you don’t have to do the camp. So hopefully I will do more short-notice (fights).”
Even though his opponent is 7-0, with six finishes, “The Pleasure Man” thinks he will get the job done come Saturday.
“I saw him and I thought he is going to be a good matchup for me. Easy money,” Turkalj said and predicted a quick finish. “I don’t think he has the condition for three rounds. He’s like a muscular guy, good looking, but it doesn’t matter how good he looks. This is MMA.”
Talking to the press, “The Pleasure Man” revealed his advantages in his upcoming bout against Petrino .
“It’s not that I have the best punches, hardest kicks or best grappling, good condition. As everybody knows, too much pleasure can be dangerous. So I will use my pleasure,” Turkalj said and took the time to explain his unusual fighter nickname.
“When I was younger all the people told me like ‘Oh you are so good looking and you’re so cute’, my dad said, “No he’s sexy’. “Therefore they called me ‘The Pleasure Boy’, and now when I’m older I’m ‘The Pleasure Man’. Right now I’m in the UFC to pleasure the fans.”
