Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich just clashed in the co-main event at the Madison Square Garden, with the UFC interim heavyweight title on the line.

The fight barely got started before it was over. Aspinall landed a clean leg kick in the opening seconds while Pavlovich answered with a powershot that the Brit took well.

Just about a minute into the fight, Aspinall landed two rock hard 1-2 combinations that knocked out the Russian cold, and just like that, UK had an interim heavyweight champion.

In the post-fight interview, the new interim champ opened up on the win.

“It’s been a crazy two and a half weeks,” Aspinall said. “He’s a big scary guy. I’ve never been as scared in my life as fighting this guy but you know what? I’ve got a lot of power too and I believe in myself. I really believe in myself.”

“I was struggling with the distance, his arms were very long but we got there.”
