The highly anticipated middleweight matchup between rising prospect Gregory Rodrigues and seasoned veteran Brad Tavares, that was scheduled for UFC 283, is now canceled as Tavares was forced to withdraw from the bout.

In a recent interview with SuperBook Sports, the Brazilian middleweight commented on the situation and claimed that the promotion is looking for a replacement to face him.

“He’s out. UFC started working to find someone to fight me in Brazil. I hope they find somebody. I was so prepared. I was so excited for my fight against Brad, to get a guy with his experience. But that’s not going to happen, not on this show,” Rodrigues said.

“One thing I know is I’m ready. I’m so prepared. Anyone can come and ‘Robocop’ will be ready. I’ll put a show on.”
