Conor McGregor has been out of action for over a year and a half, after suffering a broken leg in his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
However, McGregor will return to action later this year, as he’s set to coach the new season of The Ultimate Fighter against fellow lightweight Michael Chandler.
It’s been quiet from the Irishman regarding the comeback against Chandler, but in a recent chat with Daily Mirror, he commented on the matchup for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to it,” McGregor said. “I feel good, I feel energetic, I feel ready. I’m throwing up my high kicks faster than I’m throwing out my jab. So I’m very excited to get back.”
The Irish superstar last coached TUF back in 2015, The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber against MMA pioneer Urijah Faber.
The show included Swedish MMA fighter David Teymur who’s 5-1 in the UFC. The lightweight defeated the likes of Nik Lentz, Drakkar Klose and Lando Vannata.
