Things turned ugly at the UFC 296 staredown.

Challenger Colby Covington, who was dressed up in an American military costume from the revolutionary war, made several attempts to get under Leon Edward’s skin during the press conference.

When Covington made a tasteless remark toward the champion, a comment that involved Edward’s murdered father who was killed during Edwards’ youth, the champ immediately saw red and threw a water bottle at the challenger.

Security had to seperate Edwards from Covington to prevent a full-out fight between the two.
