Middleweight Derek Brunson, who recently said he wanted to fight four times during 2023, is now set for a pivotal fight against prospect Dricus Du Plessis. The fight will take place at UFC 285 on March 4.
The fight was first reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who also said that Du Plessis inked a new multi-fight deal with the promotion.
Coming fresh off a win against Darren Till at UFC 282, the South African middleweight is unbeaten inside the octagon, with all of his wins coming by way of stoppage.
Veteran Brunson last fought in February, when he suffered a brutal second-round TKO loss to Jared Cannonier that snapped a five-fight winning streak.

UFC 285 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and so far the card looks very promising. Besides the middleweight bout, we will see the hyped Bo Nickal make his UFC debut against Jamie Pickett.
The card also features former bantamweight Cody Garbrandt who will face Julio Arce in a career-pivotal fight. Garbrandt has lost five of his six last fights, and is in desperate need of a win.
