Swedish-Georgian lightweight Guram Kutateladze (12-2) is set for a tough matchup when he returns to the octagon this summer.
Khamzat Chimaev’s friend and teammate hasn’t fought in the UFC since he defeated no. 12-ranked Mateusz Gamrot by split decision in his promotional debut in October 2020.
Almost two years later, “The Georgian Viking” will make his return to the octagon against a tough Russian opponent as he takes on Damir (20-1). Ismagulov is on a fifteen fight win streak with four straight victories in the UFC, beating the likes of Thiago Moises and Rafael Alves. The bout is set for UFC:s upcoming event on June 18.
Guram Kutateladze himself is looking to extend his own win streak to ten straight against Ismagulov.
Sources close to the situation has confirmed the matchup to Frontkick. Mike Heck of MMA Fighting first reported the news.
