Backup finally revealed for Makhachev vs. Oliveira at UFC 294!

No. 6 ranked Mateusz Gamrot will serve as the backup for the lightweight title bout between reigning champion Islam Makhachev and former title holder Charles Oliveira at UFC 294 on October 21. That’s according to MMA Fighting.
In his last outing on September 23, Gamrot defeated Rafael Fiziev via TKO (injury).
The lightweight title fight is a rematch after Makhachev finished Oliveira in their first fight at UFC 280 12 months ago.

Current line-up for UFC 294
UFC 294 will take place on October 21 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Middleweight superstars Paulo Costa and Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev will also compete on the stacked card. The lineup also features former light heavyweight title challenger Magomed Ankalaev who takes on Johnny Walker.
