British heavyweight Tom Aspinall faced Curtis Blayed in the main event of UFC London last Saturday. Just seconds into the first round, Aspinall hurted his knee and the fight was immediately stopped.
Now he gives a update on the injury.
“Hello everyone, just a quick update on the knee situation. Anybody who’s got knee problems knows, that in order to have an MRI scan, an accurate MRI scan, you need to wait for the swelling to go down. I spoke to the surgeon, we have a rough idea what it is. I will be having the scan this weekend and having surgery early next week in London,” Aspinall said in a new video on Twitter.
No. 6 ranked Tom Aspinall was undefeated in the UFC
Even though Tom Aspinall did not confirm exactly what the injury is, it’s probably safe to say that he will be away from competing in the octagon for some time.
Before UFC London, the No. 6 ranked British heavyweight was undefeated in the UFC with five straight victories, including wins over Alexander Volkov, Andrei Arlovski and Sergey Spivak.
