UFC superstar Conor McGregor might have a successful career in acting ahead of him.
At least that’s what The Hollywood reporter recently claimed. According to their “Meet the New Generation of Ass-Kicking Movie Stars” list, McGregor has what it takes to make it big time on the movie screen.
“The former UFC champion, 35, will make his film debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Doug Limon’s “reimagining” of 80s action classic Road House. While the film could help kick-start a whole new post-ring career for the Irishman, just like fellow ex-MMA stars Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Randy Couture, the interest in whether McGregor can act or not may well be overshadowed by those wanting to see just how ripped Gyllenhaal has gotten for the role,” The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
The list also included names like Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown and Hollywood superstar Ana de Armas.
Conor McGregor has been out of fighting action since July 2021, when he broke his leg in the third fight with rival Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier.
During his time away from the octagon, the Irishman has made his first role in the remake of 80’s action classic Road House alongside Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal.
The movie also features actors like Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp and Bob Menery.
