This is why Jones calls Stipe-fight “biggest opportunity” of his life

Just hours after becoming a two-division UFC champion, the newly crowned heavyweight king Jon Jones already has his eyes on the next challenge.

“I’m excited. I’m excited for the future. I think some of my best performances are going to be coming in the next years,” Jones said at the UFC 285 post-fight press conference .

The new champion claimed that he felt great in his new weight class, and as he took zero damage in the fight, he’s aiming to get back in the gym to prepare for the possible upcoming clash with Stipe Miocic.

“My whole world is going to be focused on him. This is the biggest opportunity in my life, to be the heavyweight G.O.A.T. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”

“I’m not only going to beat Stipe Miocic, I’m going to finish Stipe Miocic before the championship rounds.”

Jon Jones: “Pride comes before fall”

As he became the UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones is arguably cements his status as the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

“It feels great. I’ve been familiar with high praises for a while now. And I’m very aware that pride comes before fall. It’s going to be different being the champ again, and everyone calling you the baddest man on the planet. But my surroundings, my circle, they will keep me humble. At the end of the day, when I’m getting back to Albuquerque, I’m just another guy on my team.”
