Undefeated Swedish strawweight Josefine “Thunder” Knutsson signs with the UFC!
The 27-year-old defeated Isis Verbeek in a one-sided fight at Dana White’s Contender Series last week, but did not earn a UFC contract.
Now, however, it turns out that Knutsson will make her UFC debut on short notice. She will face Brazilian striker Iasmin Lucindo at Noche UFC on September 17th. That’s according to Frontkick’s sources close to the situation.
Lucindo is 2-1 in the UFC and has back-to-back wins against Brogan Walker and Polyana Viana in 2023.
Training at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev, Alexander Gustafsson and Guram Kutateladze, “Thunder” has been a force of nature since her professional debut back in March 2021 at FCR 8.
The Swedish prospect blasted through the opposition on the Swedish scene before she took a step to the higher international level at ‘Road to UFC’, UAE Warriors and Dana White’s Contender Series, where she defeated the likes of Jacinta Austin, Ye Dam Seo and Isis Verbeek.
