Part three of the ’Road to UFC’ series just started in Singapore and kicking off the fight card was none other than Josefine ”Thunder” Knutsson – one of Sweden’s hottest MMA prospects.
The former Muay Thai and kickboxing champion continued her win streak and remained undefeated as she won every round against South Korean grappler Ye Dam Seo, picking up a unanimous decision victory with a pair of 30-27 scorecards as well as one 30-26.
Josefine Knutsson: ”If I get a contract in the UFC, I will bring my everything”
Knutsson was in control early, landed solid strikes throughout the bout and even landed a couple of takedowns. However, Seo’s constant movement made the Swede a bit frustrated as she would’ve wanted more of a fire fight to impress the UFC matchmakers.
”If I’m gonna be honest, I’m not completely happy with my performance. I know I can do better, but I should bring everything in this fight so no excuses. I’m gonna go home and work harder. But I want my contract in the UFC. Because I know, if I get a contract in the UFC, I will bring my everything, I will step it up – I’ll have no choice. So that’s all I’m waiting for,” Josefine Knutsson told Laura Sanko in her post-fight interview.
Knutsson, who trains with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev and Alexander Gustafsson at Allstars Training Center in Sweden, now moves to 4-0. It remains to be seen what’s next for the rising strawweight standout.
