Khamzat and Dana White’s disagreement: ”He shit himself”

Undefeated middleweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev and the UFC president don’t always agree. Especially if the subject is the circumstances of how Paulo Costa pulled out of the co-main event at UFC 294.

When recently asked about the Brazilian star, Khamzat did not exactly mince his words.

“Don’t ask questions about that shit,” Chimaev said at the UFC 294 press conference. “The guy went home. He shit himself. Be honest brother, he shit himself. That’s why he ran.”

”Not a popular answer for Khamzat”

UFC president Dana White is of another opinion than the undefeated middleweight star.

“Paulo Costa can be a pain in the ass, no doubt about it, but he’s seriously injured. He’s seriously injured and needs to get his elbow taken care of,” White said.

A timeline for Costa’s return has yet to be determined, but according to the UFC president, the Brazilian middleweight is not doing so well.

”He had a massive Staph infection. It’s legit. If it wasn’t legit, I’d be the first one to say it. Absolutely legit that guy is seriously injured, and he needed to do what he needed to do. I know that is not a popular answer for Khamzat but it is the truth, White said.

Chimaev will now face his toughest test to date as he takes on former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the co-main event at UFC 294.
