In a new interview with MacLife, UFC president Dana White opens for having Khamzat Chimaev facing Colby Covington next year.
When getting the suggestion that the fight would serve as the co-main event for the third fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, which likely takes place in London, the UFC president agreed.
”I agree with you. Alright, I’m on it. I’ll get it done,” White said.

The only fight that makes sense for Khamzat Chimaev?
With Edwards defending his welterweight title against Usman, Khamzat Chimaev teased a move up the middleweight a while back.

A fight with No. 2 ranked welterweight Covington is on paper the fight the best for No. 3 ranked Khamzat Chimaev.
In his last fight, Covington defeated his rival Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 in March. Chimaev comes from a first-round submission win against Kevin ”Trailblazer” Holland at UFC 279 in September.
