Kamaru Usman is the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC right now – but according to Swedish breakout star Khamzat Chimaev, that sentiment couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Coming into this weekend’s fight versus no. 2-ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns, the rising star shared his thoughts on welterweight champ, who is riding a streak of 19 straight career wins including five straight welterweight title defenses.
And he feels that the 34 year-olds best years are behind him.
“Kamaru Usman is too old. He’s done. He’s done, brother,” Chimaev said on a recent episode of The DC Check-In.

“Who did he beat last time, brother? He’s fought the same guy four times. He beat Colby twice, and he beat that other guy twice. Who else did he beat? The guy is old. Like Tyron Woodley, he’s out from the UFC. He lost like ten times before he left the UFC. And the boxing Youtube blogger beat that guy.”
“Who did he beat? I don’t understand. He didn’t fight somebody like me yet.”
