Khamzat’s coach may just have revealed his next opponent – and it’s not Usman!

It looks like the UFC is looking for another opponent than Kamaru Usman for Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight.

Now, it’s rumored that top ranked Jared Cannonier will be the next opponent for ”Borz”, as his coaches just kind of confirmed this in a recent Instagram story.

Coach Azamat “Ozzy” Dugulubgov recetly posted a screenshot of himself, “studying the next opponent for the Borz”.  And even though he blanked out the athlete in question a MMA fan figured out that the opponent might very well be Cannonier.

Khamzat Chimaev might return in October

While it’s still uncertain when or against who will return, he’s expected to make his comeback fight at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi which is expected to be headlined by UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev.

Chimaev has not fought since September last year when he defeated Kevin Holland at UFC 279.
