Finland’s own Makwan Amirkhani will face fellow featherweight Jonathan Pearce at the UFC London event on July 23, according to MMA Junkie.
In his last fight, “Mr. Finland” submitted Mike Grundy in just 57 seconds. The victory was his 12th by submission, and the achievement was awarded with a Performance of the Night bonus. Before that, he lost three straight bouts against Edson Barboza, Kamuela Kirk and Lerone Murphy
“Mr. Finland’s” opponent Pearce may have lost his UFC debut in 2019, but has since then secured three straigth victories against Kai Kamaka III, Omar Morales and Christian Rodriguez.
With the addition of Amirkhani vs. Pearce, the UFC London card looks to be a great night for fighters from the Nordic countries.
A middleweight fight between Swedens Jack Hermansson and Liverpools Darren Till will serve as the co-main event of the evening. We will also see Swedish UFC star Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson make his light heavyweight comeback when he faces Nikita “The Miner” Krylov on the main card.
