Danish welterweight Nicolas Dalby just clashed with Brazil’s Gabriel “Marretinha” Bonfim in the co-main event of UFC Sao Paulo.
Bonfim was undefeated with 15 wins going into the fight, 2-0 in the UFC, while Dalby entered the cage with three straight wins.
The Brazilian got the best out of the first round but Dalby landed a copule of solid combinations. By the end of the roundm Bonfim landed heavy shots from the top.
Round two started strong for the Brazilian but Dalby landed some clean punches before hitting his opponent with a solid knee that floored Bonfim. After a barrage of punches the referee stopped the fight.
With 26 fights to his name, 12 in the UFC, the Danish welterweight is a true veteran of the game. He made his promotional debut in May 2015 with a win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, and fought in UFC until 2016.
Before resigning with the world’s leading MMA promotion, Dalby fought in Cage Warriors where he became welterweight champion in 2019.
