It looks like the highly anticipated heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and former champion Stipe Miocic will not take place at UFC 290 on July 8, as initially targeted and expected.

On Wednesday, ESPN combat sports reporter Marc Raimondi gave the latest news on the status of the expected heavyweight showdown.

“I’ve seen several tweets talking about Jones vs. Miocic at UFC 290 in July. That’s still the fight all parties want next, but it won’t happen in July and hasn’t really been discussed for July in a while. Much more likely now for the fall,” Raimondi wrote in a tweet.
