Reports: Rising UFC star Ian Garry set for quick return against notable opponent
Rising welterweight star Ian Garry is ready to return after his TKO win at UFC 285 on March 4.
According to reports from ESPN Deportes’ Carlos Contreras Legaspi, he will face the tough Daniel Rodriguez on May 13.
The formerly ranked Rodriguez comes from a loss against Neil Magny, a loss that snapped his four-fight winning streak that included Mike Perry, Li Jingliang and Kevin Lee, and is looking to get back in the win column again.

Ian Garry has just fought on numbered cards
The Irish fighter has skyrocketed in UFC, only fighting at the promotion’s numbered cards.
In his debut at UFC 268 he knocked out Jordan Williams in the first round. In his second outing, at UFC 273, he defeated Darian Weeks via a unanimous decision.
In his third fight he defeated Gabriel Green via a unanimous decision at UFC 276, while he stood for a great finish at UFC 285 when he TKO’d Song Kenan in the third round.
The Irishman also recently claimed that he intends to be a part of the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler card that is expected to take place later this year.
“That’s the card I’m going to be on 100 per cent. There’s no way the UFC aren’t going to make that happen,” Garry told talkSPORT a while back. “Putting me and Conor on the same card is just obvious. You’ve got the biggest star the sport has ever seen coming back against somebody who is equally as loved by the fans in Chandler.”
