At UFC 276, middleweight Sean ”Tarzan” Strickland suffered a brutal knockout loss against decorated kickboxer Alex Pereira. Halfway through the first round, Pereira landed a flush left hook that dropped ”Tarzan”, and followed up with two right hands before the referee stop the fight.
Now, Strickland opens up about the knockout loss in a Instagram post.
”Well, that sucked,” Strickland said. ”You never want to be someones highlight but that’s the game we play. I tried to stand and bang with one of the best kickboxers. The shitty part about it was, you know, during the round I kept thinking ’Man this is going to be a easy fight. I see everything this guy is throwing, I’m getting the better of the exchanges, I’m going to beat this guy up for three rounds’. And then halfway through I got caught. Hats off to Alex, he’s a fucking killer.”

”It’s depressing, I’m going to be fucking sad for a while. And fans, thank for supporting me. On to the next one, time to climb up the ladder again,” Strickland said.
