Former heavyweight kingpin Stipe Miocic suffered a second-round knockout against Francis Ngannou in March last year, and has not stepped into the octagon since.
However, in a new Instagram video a jacked Miocic is seen building his physique ahead of a possible UFC return later this year.
“With great size, comes great responsibility,” the former champion wrote on Instagram.
Since UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is still recovering from surgery, many believe that Stipe Miocic and former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will square off in an interim heavyweight title bout later this year.
And while Jones has been posting news about his bulking process for the move to heavyweight, Miocic has been building muscles in the shadows. However, one who’s been talking about Stipes new physique is former middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
“He got big. He’s been doing it quietly. He’s like a solid 250 right now, solid 250,” Weidman recently told The Schmoo.
“Whenever he decides to come back, he’s a problem,” Weidman said. “I don’t think Jon Jones wants that fight. If he thinks he’s going to be going against a 225-pound Stipe, he’s wrong. You got a big, strong boy that won’t stop coming forward and believes in himself and is very well-rounded.”
