Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has been off the radar since he lost to Francis Ngannou in March 2021.
However, with Ngannou departing from the promotion and Jon Jones fighting for the vacant title, the once so dominant champ suddenly gave a sign of life on social media.
“March 4th – I like it. I got winner in July,” Miocic wrote on Twitter.
Blaydes wants title shot against Jon Jones or Cyril Gane
No. 4 ranked contender Curtis Blaydes, who rides a three-fight winning streak that includes Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Chris Daukaus and Tom Aspinall, also wants a piece of the title fight action.
“Obviously I’ve seen the news, Gane is getting another title shot vs. Jones,” Blaydes wrote on social media. “Most likely I’ll be getting the Pavolich who just beat Tuivasa. That’s cool with me, I get why Gane got the shot and it wasn’t based off meritocracy and that’s not a news flash, the UFC is always gonna to match make based off who puts the most asses in the stands and eyes on the fight. I hope I’ll only need one more win to prove I can put asses in the stands and get a title shot.”
Jon Jones will face Cyril Gane in the main event of UFC 285. The event takes place on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
