Instead of an all-British super-fight with Anthony Joshua, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is now confirmed to fight Derek Chisora in their trilogy bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 3 in London.
The 34-year-old champion will defend his WBC world title for the third time against Chisora who he has beaten twice already.
Fury and Chisora’s rivalry dates back to 2011 when the Brit won their first fight. Three years later they clashed for the second time, with Fury winning once again.
Even though “The Gypsy King” beat Chisora twice already, there is a lot at stake since the British fighter is eying an undisputed world title bout against WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in early 2023.
“Tyson can’t afford any slip-up in this fight as he has the much-publicised undisputed match-up with Usyk in the new year which we’re really looking forward to,” said Tyson Fury’s UK promoter Frank Warren.
