UFC 299 is currently going down in Miami, Florida and the prelims just wrapped up with a heavyweight clash between top-ranked contenders Curtis Blaydes and Jailton Almeida as the featured bout.
Blaydes, ranked at No. 5 in the promotion’s heavyweight rankings ahead of UFC 299, managed to secure a secure a second-round stoppage against the rising contender. In the first round, Almeida wasted no time and immediatelly turned to wrestling, scoring nine takedowns and controlling Blaydes throughout the round. However, things took a turn in round two as Blaydes used Almeida’s takedown attempt as an opportunity to land some heavy hammerfists that led to a TKO finish.
