The world’s leading MMA promotion will return to Ethiad Arena in Abu Dhabi in October with UFC 308.

No fights are announced for the card so far at this moment. However, UFC 280, in October 2022 and UFC 294, in October 2023, were both headlined by Islam Makhachev.

At UFC 280 he won the vacant lightweight belt with a submission win over Charles Oliveira. At UFC 294 he knocked out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.

Makhachev is currently looking to defend his title in June, but could quite possibly be ready to fight again in October at UFC 308.

Khamzat Chimaev to fight at UFC 308?

Another fighter who’s been fighting at the October Abu Dhabi cards is undefeated UFC star Khamzat Chimaev. “Borz” defeated Li Jingliang at UFC 267 in October 2021 and Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 in October 2023. Chimaev is booked for a title eliminator fight against Robert Whittaker on June 22, and timewise he could possibly fight in October again.

UFC 308 will mark the 20th event the promotion has held an event in Abu Dhabi and will be part of what the promotion is branding “Abu Dhabi Showdown Week.”
