UFC Austin turned out to be a monster of a card with eight KOs and TKO’s, one submission, and four decisions, including three razor-thin split-decisions.

The main event, between top ranked featherweights Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett, ended up being a competetive 25 minute boxing match, where both fighters found success. After five close rounds the bout could go either way, but in the end, Emmett won by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47).

“There’s a huge title fight in two weeks,” Emmett said immediately after the fight. “I’m going to be sitting cageside to see who I’ve got next. Dana, give me my shot.”

In the night’s co-main event, former middleweight Kevin Holland faced Tim Means in his second welterweight bout. In round two, Holland landed a flush right hand and then went for a D’Arce choke that ended the fight.

The main card also featured the highly anticipated bout between lightweights Guram Kutateladze and Damir Ismagulov. The fight ended up being a three round technical battle where all three rounds were very close. In the end, Ismagulov stood as the winner by way of split decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27).
