This will be the fourth price increase for UFC PPVs since the organization struck a broadcast deal with ESPN back in 2019.
In early 2020, the cost of UFC pay-per-views was raised from $59.99 to $64.99. At the beginning of 2021 it was again raised, this time to $69.99. In 2022, the price was raised for a third time to $74.99, and now in 2023, to $79.99.
In addition to that, the ESPN+subscription service that’s needed to buy UFC PPVs was also raised from $6.99 a month to $9.99 a month in August. That’s a raise by 43 percent.
The first pay-per-view under the new deal is UFC 283 that takes place in Brazil on January 21.
The card is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between former champion Glover Teixeira and No.7 ranked Jamahall Hill.
In the co-main event we will see a flyweight title fight between bitter rivals Deiveson Figueiredo Brandon Moreno. The champion Figueiredo and interim champion Moreno have already fought three times in the last year, and in January they will (probably) settle the score for good.
The stacked card also features Swedish-Georgian lightweight Guram Kutateladze who will clash with Thiago Moisés in a highly anticipated bout.
