UFC just announced that they will return to the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi for UFC 294.

The event will take place on October 21, and so far no matchups have been announced for the fight card.

However, the last major cards the promotion hosted in the Etihad Arena featured huge title bouts, as well as massive names like Khamzat Chimaev, who submitted Li Jingliang at UFC 267, and Sean O’Malley, who defeated Petr Yan at UFC 280.

UFC 294 is the 18th event in Abu Dhabi

The event marks the promotions 18th card in Abu Dhabi, though a big share of them took place on “Fight Island” during the pandemic.

In the last event, UFC 280, that took place on October 20 last year, Islam Makhachev defeated Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira to become the lightweight champion of the world.

The card also featured a bantamweight title bout where champion Aljamain Sterling stopped challenger, and former two-time title holder, T.J. Dillashaw in his tracks.
