UFC Vegas 55 Results: Tough loss for Holly Holm

In the main event at UFC Vegas 55, former bantamweight champion Holly Holm faced No. 5 ranked contender Ketlen Vieira. In the second round, the Brazilian caught Holm in a standing choke that looked tight enough to end the fight, but ”The Preacher’s Daughter” got out just in time.

After five competetive rounds Vieira won the fight by split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47).

The co-main welterweight fight, between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Michel Pereira, also went the distance. After three rounds the judges scored the contest 29-28, 30-27, 28-29 in Pereira’s favor.

On the prelims, featherweight Chase ”The Teenage Dream” Hooper and strawweight Sam Hughes both defeated their opponents via TKO in the third round.

50 000 dollar bonuses

The 50 000 dollar Fight of the Night bonus went to Michel Pereira vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio.

The Performance of the Night bonuses went to Chidi Njokuani and Chase Hooper, both getting 50 000 dollars each.
