With his win at UFC 300, stone-faced two-division champion Alex Pereira cemented his status as one of the absolute biggest stars in the UFC.
However, recent footage showed that the fight against Jamahal Hill was close to never happening at all.
Recently released video footage from Friday March 29, two weeks before UFC 300, shows Pereira breaking his toe throwing a kick in training and the efforts to lock the broken toe back into place.

Alex Pereira knocked out Jamahal Hill in the first
At the 3:14 mark of the first round in the UFC 300 main event, Pereira knocked out Jamahal Hill with a perfect left hook followed by heavy strikes on the ground.
The victory marked “Poatan’s” seventh victory in eight UFC fights. Half of the bouts have been for a UFC title.
