Volkan Oezdemir is back to face undefeated fighter at UFC Paris

Former light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir is set for his first appearance of 2023 as he will take on the undefeated Azamat Murzakanov at UFC Paris on September 2.

The promotion announced the news of the matchup.

Oezdemir has seen mixed results over the past few years and defeated Paul Craig via unanimous decision last summer, but then lost a decision to Nikita Krylov at UFC 280 this past October.

Murzakanov has a flawless record of 13-0 and three straight wins in the UFC. He made his promotional debut in March last year and comes from a unanimous decision against Dustin Jacoby on April 15.

UFC Paris with Volkan Oezdemir

UFC Paris will take place at the Accor Arena and is headlined by a french heavyweight Ciryl Gane who takes the dangerous No. 2 ranked Serghei Spivac in a five-round main event.

Gane headlined the first-ever UFC Paris card this past September, and defeated Australian heavyweight Tai Tuivasa via  a third round knockout.
