Nikita Krylov defeated Volkan Oezdemir in a gruelling fight at UFC 280

No. 8 ranked light heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir just faced No. 10 ranked Nikita “The Miner” Krylov in the prelims at UFC 280.

The first round started at an insane pace. Volkan landed heavy punches from the start, wobbling his opponent. Krylov came back strong, landed good shots and threatened Oezdemir with a submission attempt. Oezdemir finished the round in strong fashion.

In the second round, Krylov mixed up his striking with kicks and punches and was the more dominant fighter during the round.

In the third round, “The Miner” took over, mixing up his striking with takedowns. Oezdemir spended the majority of the last round on the ground.

After the final bell, Krylov stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 on the judges scorecards.
