Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva continues to prove that age is just a number. Last night he faced Bruno Machado in a exhibition boxing match, and in the fifth round “Spider” landed a vicious combination that knocked his opponent straight to the canvas.

However, Machado was able to recover from the knockdown and came back out ready to fight in the sixth round.

“He’s an amazing fighter,” Silva later said about his opponent.

In the end, there was no winner declared since it was an exhibition bout, but it’s fair to say that “Spider” dominated the entire fight with fast combinations, patented footwork and great head movement.

Anderson Silva makes great success as a boxer

MMA legend Silva did his last UFC fight in October 2020 when he fought Uriah Hall. A fight he lost via TKO in round four. A few weeks later, the organization announced that they had released the Brazilian from his UFC contract.

Since then, “Spider” has continued his career as a boxer.

On 19 June 2021, he faced Julio César Chávez Jr. and won the fight via split decision.

A few months later, on September 11, Silva faced former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz in an pro boxing bout and won via knockout in the very first round.

At the moment there is no news what’s next for “Spider” as a boxer, although there are roumors flying around that he will be the next opponent for social media star Jake Paul.
