Yesterday, Swedish boxer Linn Sandström suffered the toughest defeat of her career as she challenged undefeated WBA world super flyweight champion Clara Lescurat in a title bout scheduled for 10 two minute rounds.

After ten rounds, Lescurat stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 91-99, 93-97 and 90-100 on the scorecards.

In a new post on Instagram, the Swedish boxer commented on the loss.

“Yesterday I dared to be great! And unfortunately it didn’t go my way,” Sandström wrote. “But I can’t be anything else than so so proud of myself. To think that 5 months ago I couldn’t even walk due to rapturing my achilles and yesterday I went 10 rounds with the 3 x time defending WBA World Champ is insane! Congratulations to Clara for a great and super tough fight.

I have grown enormously during this World Championship Camp. Both inside and outside the ring. I’m not even close to being the same boxer or the same person I was a few months back. I keep learning and I keep growing and that’s why I can’t wait to come back even stronger and even better than before. Everyone that knows me knows that this just fuels my fire so much more and I can’t wait to get back in the ring soon again.”
