Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman recently surprised fight fans and experts as he announced that former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has inked a deal with the promotion.
Rockhold retired from MMA last August, and will make his bare-knuckle boxing debut against Mike Perry at BKFC 41 on April 29. The former UFC fighters will clash at 185 pounds.
“I’m done being a fucking slave and I’m excited to be partnered with Bare Knuckle and do this thing right,” Rockhold told MMA Hour.
Perry is undefeated in the promotion after two wins against Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Julian Lane, and has quickly become one of the biggest names in BKFC.
Former UFC lightweight champion Alvarez, who’s also a former two-time Bellator champion, will also compete on the BKFC 41 card as he faces former top ranked UFC featherweight Chad Mendes in a 165 lbs bout.
The event takes place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and also features a flyweight title fight between reigning champion Christine Ferea and Bec Rawlings.
The card will air on pay-per-view at a cost of $49.99.
