On Friday May 12, Swedish Bellator fighter Oliver Enkamp is back in action for a fight in Paris, France.

Talking to Frontkick’s sister site Maximum Sports, the Swede breaks down the upcoming fight against Luca Poclit, who has eight straight wins and is undefeated in the promotion.

“Luca has the typical SBG stance that Conor [McGregor] used in his earlier fights. Heavy on his back foot and using aggressive counters by pressing forward which makes you go first and miss so he can hit you on your way in,” Enkamp said.

“When it comes to the ground game he has a very unorthodox grappling style, a lot like me actually! So there are several threats I need to avoid, and that’s why I can have a clear game plan.”

Oliver Enkamp: “Expect a high paced fight”

Last time the Swede stepped into the cage he pulled off one of the craziest submissions of 2022 as he defeated Mark Lemminger in the third round.

However, the preparations of the fight didn’t go as planned as the weightcut was bad and he ran out of gas early in the fight.

“Despite the horrible weight cut I pulled off a ‘Submission of the year’ candidate,” Enkamp said.

On Saturday the Swedish welterweight aims to get his fifth win in Bellator.

“Just as usual you can expect a high paced fight from start to finish.”

Bellator 296 with Oliver Enkamp takes place in Paris, France on Friday May 12.
