PFL: “This totally changes the MMA landscape overnight”
Talking to The Financial Times, the CEO explained that the deal made the promotion a co-leader on the international MMA scene.
“This totally changes the MMA landscape overnight,” Davis said. “You essentially put two number two companies to create a co-leader. The combined PFL Bellator roster now has 30 percent of its fighters who are ranked top 25 in the world by Fight Matrix. That’s the same as UFC has in their roster.”
According to the PFL, Bellator will continue to operate as “Bellator International Champions Series”. The series will have eight events per year with two title fights on each card.
Fighters currently under contract with Bellator will also be available to compete in the PFL.
