Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia reportedly tested positive for the banned performance-enhancing drug ostarine in connection with his fight against Devin Haney on April 20. He tested positive for the banned substance in two drug tests with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association.
Long-time boxing journalist Dan Rafael reported the news Wednesday.
Garcia demented the news, calling it fake news.
“Fake fucking news,” Garcia said on X Spaces. “Don’t believe these fuckers, bro. I never fucking took a steroid in my fucking life.”
“If they had this information, they should’ve released this before the fight went down. Because why would you let a cheater step into the ring? Right? All of a sudden I win and then you release it? Seems kind of fishy to me. I know in my heart of hearts I didn’t cheat, so I’m gonna keep trolling this shit. This shit is fucking hilarious. At the end of the day, I’m definitely innocent.”
Devin Haney also commented to the news in a statement.

Garcia was supposed to fight Haney for the WBC super lightweight title, however, after coming in three pounds overweight at weigh-ins he was disqualified from winning the strap.
He was a significant betting underdog coming in to the fight, but was able to win via majority decision, with 114-110, 115-109 and 112-112 on the judges’ cards, after a dominant performance.
