ONE Championship women’s strawweight Muay Thai world champion Smilla Sundell will be back in action soon.
In a new Instagram story, the Swedish fighter announced that her next fight in ONE Championship will take place on May 26 at ONE Lumpinee. Who she will face is not yet revealed.
“My next fight will (be) on the 26th of May. And it will be in kickboxing at ONE Lumpinee,” Smilla wrote.
In April last year, Sundell made history as the the youngest person to ever win a ONE world title in Muay Thai as she defeated Jackie Buntan to win the inaugural ONE women’s strawweight championship.
The Swedish striker was 17 years and 5 months at the time.
“It feels great. I’m so happy right now. It’s my biggest dream coming true,” Sundell said post-fight.
The impressive performance also earned her a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Sundell signed with ONE Championship in 2021. In her promotional debut on 25 February 2022, she stopped Australia’s Diandra Martin with a third-round TKO.
