On Sunday, February 26 Swedish MMA fighter Jonny Touma will enter the cage at UAE Warriors 37 to compete for the promotion’s flyweight title against Nawras Abzakh.
Recently visiting Swedish fighting podcast Käftsmällspodden, the 28-year-old fighter expressed excitement to enter the cage to fight for the belt.
”Finally I will fight for a title,” Touma said.” I was supposed to fight for the Fight Club Rush title, but now it’s UAE Warriors instead. It feels good!”
UAE Warriors gave the Stockholm fighter a shot for the flyweight gold after just one bout in the promotion. Something that suits him just fine.
”First and foremost I feel like I’m done with Sweden. I faced most of the fighters here twice,” Touma said. ”I’m among the best, if not the best flyweight in Sweden. I want to position myself in the Middle East. I want to be the best in the world, if I just stay in Sweden I will never achieve it, and UAE is a great platform.”
”I want to fight in Asia as well. To become the best in the world you have to get out in the world.”

”He’s not better than any of my other opponents”
The experienced Abzakh will no doubt be a tough opponent, however, the Swede is confident in his ability going into the fight.
”I have a long career as an amatuer and fought many fights, now I have a lot of professional bouts too. I don’t see him as better than my previous opponents. I will handle it, I will win this belt.”
Touma will be the second-ever Swede to fight for a UAE Warriors title, since Ali Taleb won the bantamweight belt last year.

Jonny Touma moved to Allstars Training Center
Ahead of Sunday’s title bout, the Stockholm fighter started to train at the famous Allstars Training Center where he sparred with some of the best fighters in Sweden, including flyweight rivals like Zoran Milic.
”There are no hard feelings, just business,” Touma said. ”We are all from the same country, we should cooperate. We all want to be the best in the world, not in Sweden. I don’t want to be the best here, I want to get out in the world.”
