Cris Cyborg hints at retirement in a near future

This past Saturday, Cris Cyborg added a PFL Super Fights title to her collection of UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, and Invicta belts. 19 years into her fantastic career, the Brazilian hints at retirement in a near future.

“It took a long time to fight,” Cyborg said at the post-fight press conference. “My last time, I fought one year ago. I wanted to fight more times, for me to defend my title, because I want to complete 20 years in my career. This year is 19 and I want to go to my next chapter of my life and have a kid. Next plan, I’d like to defend my title as soon as possible.”

Paul Hughes invites Conor McGregor to corner for potential title bout

Rising PFL star Paul Hughes wants a title fight against Usman Nurmagomedov next. In the corner he would like fellow countryman Conor McGregor, because Khabib Nurmagomedov will be in Usman’s corner.

“Conor, I want you in my corner for that fight, 100 percent,” Hughes said. “How cool would that be? I mean, we might need some extra security that night, but I’m down for it. I think it would be fun.”

Francis Ngannou: “It was my biggest challenge”

Making his PFL debut just six months after Ngannou’s 15-month-old son Kobe died tragically, Francis Ngannou was unsure about his future as a fighter ahead of Saturday night’s MMA return at PFL.

“It was my biggest challenge in the way that I wasn’t the person that I used to be,” Ngannou said after his win. “Coming into this fight, this fight was also a way for me to find out if I can still fight. If I still have it. Something like that.”

“If I can deal with this, the pressure, with the fight week, with the media and everything.”
