Swedish MMA fighter Robin “Pretty Boy” Roos could be one win away from an international breakthrough. At Cage Warriors 175, he will make his promotional debut in a middleweight title bout against reigning champion Dario Bellandi.

The fight goes down on Thursday July 25, at BEC Arena in Manchester, during a week that culminates with UFC 304. In a new interview with Ashah Tafari for Frontkick’s sister site Maximum Sports, the Swedish middleweight talked about the massive opportunity.

“It’s clear that Cage Warriors see me as one of the best middleweights in Europe at the moment,” Roos said. “They probably had their eyes on me for a long time. I don’t know about anyone who got a title fight in their debut. That’s a big honour.”

“My opponent seems to be a good and well-rounded fighter. My plan is the same as usual, force my game on him and work methodically to get the finish.”

Robin Roos inked a major deal

With his new deal, Roos will likely be a major player in the Cage Warriors middleweight division for a foreseeable future, if he does not take the step over to the UFC.

“I signed a five-fight contract with Cage Warriors and when you have the title it transfers into another contract. I’ve been keen on fighting in Cage Warriors for a while but got a lot of offers from KSW, FNC, OKTAGON among others. It’s been a process to choose but considering this fight I feel like I made the right choice.”

The Swede’s first fight in Cage Warriors will be broadcasted by UFC Fight Pass on July 25. More information about the CW 175 fight card here!
