Two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-division world champion Claressa Shields is not happy with the Olympics in Paris where two boxers who were disqualified from competing with women at a global event last year have been permitted to fight.
“So they got men fighting against women in the Olympics. I wouldn’t have stood for no stuff like that. That is so heartbreaking to the women who have to have their dreams ruined by a man. Sad asf,” Sheilds recently tweeted.
Claressa Shields won the Olympics twice
Shields won gold medals in the women’s middleweight division at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She made history as the first American boxer to win consecutive Olympic medals.
She went to pro boxing in November 2016. She is one of only four boxers in history, male or female, to hold all four major world titles in boxing in two weight classes.
