Swedish strawweight Josefine “Thunder” Lindgren Knutsson is ready to fight Caroline Gallardo at an upcoming Combate event on September 30. The fight was first reported by Maximum Sports.
The two strawweights were scheduled to fight on August 12 at Combate Global, however, the fight was cancelled due to Gallardo’s visa issues.
“Thunder” is undefeated with a professional record of 4-0, with three wins in the Swedish MMA organization Fight Club Rush. Her opponent, Caroline Gallardo, has a professional record of 7-4 and is currently riding a three fight win streak. In her last fight she took a TKO-win over Stéphanie Page at Combate Global.
Josefine Lindgren Knutsson dominates her opponents
In the Swedish strawweight’s last fight at Road to UFC in June, she defeated South Korean grappler Ye Dam Seo via unanimous decision victory, with 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26 on the judges scorecards.
Even though she dominated every round of the fight, the Swede was not completely happy with her performance.
“I know I can do better, but I should bring everything in this fight so no excuses. I’m gonna go home and work harder. But I want my contract in the UFC. Because I know, if I get a contract in the UFC, I will bring my everything, I will step it up, I’ll have no choice. So that’s all I’m waiting for,” Josefine Knutsson said in her post-fight interview.
